Mr. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of misinterpreting the law by accepting Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu rather than him as candidate of the party in Edo state.
Iduoriyekemwen, who spoke through a member of his campaign organization, Mr. Nelson Edosanwan, said the Modu Sheriff faction of the PDP, to which he belongs, had earlier headed to the Appeal Court to contest the judgment of the Federal High Court, saying that as law abiding party leader, he will await the judgment of the Appeal Court.
Iduoriyekemwen took second place to Ize-Iyamu in the primaries organised by the Dan Orbih led mainstream of the party but subsequently rebuffed the party to team up with the Sheriff tendency and emerged the consensus candidate of the faction but was, however, rejected by INEC.
