Olorogun Ogheneweme Ima Kagho, 69, is dead. He died at the National Hospital, Abuja, on May 31, 2016 after a brief illness.

Born on May 19, 1947 in Warri, the late Kagho had his primary education in Warri and attended Government College Ughelli, for his secondary education. He hailed from the illustrious Kagho-Omomadia family of Oghara-Iyede in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, while on his maternal side, from the famous Eghagha family of Mereje, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

An electrical engineer, he started his undergraduate studies in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1967 with a scholarship from the then Mid-West Government and finished at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand, in 1971, on scholarship under the Special Commonwealth African Assistance Plan, SCAAP.

He worked briefly in New Zealand before returning home to start his engineering career with the Mid-Western State Ministry of Works and Transport. He later transferred his service to the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority and subsequently ended up with the Federal Ministry of Works.

As a result of his postings and deployments, he lived several years in Benin, Lagos, Ilorin, Asaba and Abuja respectively. He retired from the Federal Service in 2007, as a Director at the age of 60 after 34 years of meritorious public service.

He wrote a book titled: Ghost on Flight to Lisa Village & other short stories (2006) and produced an orchestral CD: Am Ready (2007)

Service of Songs and Tributes took place at his Abuja residence on July 23. Service of Songs will be at his Warri residence, 25, Lower Erejuwa Road, on July 30, while funeral service holds at his home town, Ogewho-Iyede.

He is survived by five children and five grandsons. He was made an Olorogun, the Arhue of Iyede Kingdom.
