EDO State chapter of the League of National Patriots has advised politicians and party leaders to refrain from inciting youths against rivals and other governorship aspirants.“It enjoined them to embrace due process that would lead to peaceful campaigns and primaries.
“The group which made the call in a communiqué after a meeting held in Benin City pledged not to endorse any party’s aspirant in the forthcoming election in the state. “The non-partisan body promised to endorse and massively support the best candidate emerges after the various party primaries.“
Speaking at the end of the meeting, its national mobilization officer, Haruna Destiny Mohammed who is also an indigene of the state, urged the various political parties to “ensure that candidates with the best credentials needed to create jobs, provide social amenities, quality health and education and positively impact and improve on the lives of the common man in the worsening economic situation, are given the mandate to run in the said gubernatorial election.
