Lagos—Contrary to earlier report of the commencement of palliative work on the deplorable portion of Berlett Bus stop, Ilasa by Lagos State Government, investigation has shown that no such work is ongoing in the area.
It was however gathered that the road is one of the roads listed by Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC for repairs this year.
After years of total neglect, residents and motorists had lodged several complaints over the continued poor state of the road which results in loss of lives and properties on the axis.
The road, which connect Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, and Nigeria foremost seaport, Nigeria Port Authority, Apapa Sea Ports, if fixed would afford motorists seamless movement pending proper reconstruction by agents of the Federal Government.
However, one of the motorists who spoke with Vanguard, Mr. Adebayo Oloyede, appealed to the state government to come to the aid of suffering masses by fixing the road without further delay.
