Owoseni’s The Career Leader points the way for youth
ONE of the most complex issue facing the youth is the dilemma of choosing a career and lifelong work. Hence the need to guide them on this important issue. It is in response to this that a youth development consultant, Abraham Owoseni came up with a new book entitled Career Leader, A Guide to Purposeful Career and Influential Leadership.
Kammonke, 16-year-old Nigerian selected as 2015 Global Scholar
A 16-year old Nigerian, Mr. Obase-wotta Kammonke, has been selected to serve as a Global Scholar at the 2015 Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC). In a letter conveying this honour, and signed by Marguerite C. Regan, Dean of Academic Affairs, Global Young Leaders Conference, Obase-wotta’s invitation to represent Nigeria places him among a very select group of top students across the world based on their “demonstrated leadership potential.”
Nigerian students not among best two in 5yrs
It was rather worrisome when the WAEC International Excellence Award Winners for May/June 2014 WASSCE was announced and no Nigerian student was among the best three as Ghana clinched first, second and third in the international prestigious awards. When the winners were announced recently in Ikeja, Lagos, in the presence of WAEC representatives in West Africa, it was disclosed that Master Hasan Mickail, Master Kenyah Blaykyi and Master Archibald Henry all from Ghana got the first, second and third positions at the International Excellence Award prizes respectively.

GIS gets feedback as intern-ship training ends in Lagos
The three-day graduate internship orientation training programme started in Lagos on Monday ended Wednesday with interns and firms’ representatives rating the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, office organized programme. Many of the interns and representatives of their firms of attachment saw the programme as laudable and truly working for the better of the Nigerian society. They however craved the indulgence of operators of the government to ensure that the mentoring programme for young graduate interns was sustained.
Curriculum shift: A future without HISTORY?
The labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain. Ten year old Ikenna Chukwudi sings this line of the national anthem every school morning. It is hardly his fault that he has no idea who these ‘heroes’ are. The Nnamdi Azikiwes, Tafawa Balewas, and Anthony Enahoros are strange to him; so are King Jaja of Opobo, Nana of Itsekiri land, Usman Dan Fodio and Queen Amina of Zaria.
