ASABA—The Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC General Contractors,  have demanded the  full payment of money owed them, insisting that the 15 percent that the commission paid to them was not sufficient because they were indebted to banks, from where they secured the funds for the project.

In a statement, representatives of the General Contrators, Mr. Emma Okoh and Ugochuku Uzor, are demanding that for the equity and fairness, praying the commission should pay them 100 percent of what is owed them, since contractors that have the backing of those in government have received full payment despite the fact that the general contractors have received certificates for full  payment.

They said that despite the certificates they received for full payment, the commission still insisted on paying them 15 percent, though with a promise to pay the outstanding, noting that they were indebted to the banks.

They are appealing to the state government prevail on the commission to speed full payment since all government officials have received full payment.
