BY JUDE OPARA, Abuja
Coach Shuiabu Amodu yesterday formerly resumed as the Technical Director for football development of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with the promise to add his quota to the development of football in the country.
Amodu who was initially appointed about two years ago by the Aminu Maigari led board said he understands his job schedule adding that there will be a cordial relationship between him and all the national team coaches because all of them are aiming to develop the game.
The former national team coach further explained that his tenure will be targeted towards the improvement of the game across all the national teams from the age groups to the Super Eagles.
“My target will be to work for the development of Nigeria football vis-à-vis all the national teams from the U-17 to the top. Whatever input we can give directly or indirectly in terms of technical expertise we will do to ensure that all the coaches get all what they deserve to get in terms of technical support that will bring the best out of their responsibilities.
“Talking about the relationship between me and the coaches with reference to the selection of players, I want to state that it is not in my purview to select players for national team coaches, it is their responsibilities and all I think I need to do is to work with them to ensure that the best is always available to play for Nigeria.”
Amodu further declined to comment on some issues that relates with the coaches especially the removal of Super Falcons Coach, Edwin Okon insisting he must have to study the situation before that.
