Athletics: Uganda runners hit by HIV scare
Ugandan runners have been hit by a major health scare after it emerged that a coach accused of sexually abusing young athletes was infected with HIV. There are fears the virus, which can lead to AIDS, may have been spread further among other runners due to promiscuity among the athletes, and one of the east African nation's top sportsman is calling for widespread testing.
Ejigbo pepper sodomy: 10 persons remanded in prison
An Ikeja High Court Tuesday remanded in prison custody 9 men and 1 woman charged in connection with the Ejigbo Pepper Sodomy. The 10 were brought to court over the torture, attempted murder and sodomy of three females accused of stealing pepper at Oba Morufu International Market in Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

C. Africa armed groups pledge to free thousands of child soldiers
Leaders of armed groups in the Central African Republic agreed Tuesday to release thousands of child soldiers and to end underage recruitment, UNICEF said. The United Nations children’s agency described the news as a “major step forward” in the country, where it estimates 6,000 to 10,000 children to be held by various armed factions.
Prince Ali dismisses speculation he may withdraw FIFA boss bid
