By Festus Ahon

ASABA—DELTA State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation has summoned the management of Leadership and Company Limited to appear before it tomorrow over the delay in the execution of a project awarded to it by the state government.

Chairman of the Committee, Mr Daniel Mayuku, gave the directive when officials of the Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the supervisory ministry of the Delta Event Centre project in Warri, awarded to Leadership and Company, appeared before it to defend the 2015 budget of the Directorate.

Mayuku flanked by other members of the committee had expressed displeasure over the delay in the execution of the Delta Event Centre project.

The lawmaker directed Culture and Tourism Commissioner, Mr Mofe Damijo, to come with the chairman of the company to the House to “explain their challenges if any,” restating government’s commitment to the execution of the project

Mr Damijo had explained that the contractor once complained of harassment from the host community and since then he had not returned to site.
