ASABA—THE campaign train of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Wednesday, brought socio-economic activities to a standstill in Agbor and Owa-Oyibu, headquarters of Ika South and Ika North-East Local Government Areas of the state, respectively.
The campaign train, which left Agbor at 1p.m., for the headquarters of Okowa’s home council, Owa-Oyibu, caused traffic gridlock, as vehicular movement was brought to a stands still for several hours, while indigenes from the neighbouring villages thronged the Owa-Oyibu township stadium to catch a glimpse of the campaign team of their son, Senator Okowa, and hear him speak.
Addressing the crowd of supporters from within and outside the council, Okowa told his kinsmen to reach out to all their friends and relations in the state to cast their votes for him and the PDP candidates, including President Goodluck Jonathan, who are standing for the February general elections.
Okowa, who also spoke at Agbor, headquarters of Ika South council, said the PDP does not expect less from Ika people, appealing to them to give bloc votes to the PDP.
The governorship candidate who paid courtesy visits to the ‘Obis’ of Agbor and Owa-Oyibu, stressed the need for the people to ensure victory for the PDP senatorial candidate, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi.
