It isn’t news that social media platforms can be addictive. But Glamtech came face to face with a shocking example of social media addiction with tumultous, yet hilarious consequences in Lagos recently.
The poor girl demanded for the attention she deserved politely. He again apologized and put his cell phone on sleep mode while his girl resumed her talking. In less than 5 minutes the guy pulled out his phone while his damsel was looking him straight in the eyes, flicked the cell phone’s function button and returned to his Palmchat mode; this time sending several loud chuckles to whoever he was chatting up. This was when all hell broke loose.
The obviously angry girl threw all caution to the wind and went ballistic, pulling for the cell phone. In a matter of minutes, the lover’s spat had turned to a street fight along the Yaba bus stop while passers-by enjoyed the drama unfolding before their eyes.
Social platforms on smart phones can be quite an interesting experience especially with Nigeria’s trending platform, Palmchat overrunning the young and hearty right now. With over 80,000 users worldwide signing up daily, Palmchat has joined millions of users around the world in sharing the fun of mobile social experience. In spite of our love for these platforms there is a huge need to create balance in order to avoid addictions and pay attention to the task at hand.
