The  Director, Mobile Application Developer and Partner Ecosystem, Middle East and Africa, (MEA) of Microsoft Devices Group,  Mr. Joe Devassy has said  that Nigeria must address  infrastructural challenges to promote mobile apps market development.

Devassy who made the observation  last week when he visited CcHUB, Nigeria’s open living lab and pre-incubation space at Yaba Lagos restated   Microsoft Devices Group commitment to promote Nigerian local apps developers .

He  told the tech start-ups at the center  that  the ability of Nigerian government to get 4G at low cost was  very important  for  the expansion of local apps.

Message to app developers:
While advising the young  app developers at the Cc HUB to be innovative , he said,  “You need to have consumers for your app. If consumers do not use your apps, you  will not be relevant in the ecosystem.
Baseline for apps:

“The biggest challenge in apps market is discovery. The baseline is quality and relevant of the content to the local market.. We increase consumer engagement.

“We engage and promote developers. That is what is unique about us that others are not doing in  the ecosystem.”, he explained.

Stating that mobile apps development is growing  by the day, , he noted that Nigeria is an important market, adding that it is challenging to make money in the mobile apps space.
