ADO EKITI—Ekiti state governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has pledged to partner with traditional rulers for the development of the state, saying his programmes and policies will benefit all, irrespective of religion or party affiliation.
He spoke yesterday in Ado Ekiti when the monarchs led by their chairman, Oba Adamo Babalola, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Onigari.
Speaking through his deputy governor-elect, Dr. Olusola Eleka, Fayose said “My goal is to engender development of the state in a way to make everyone relevant and participate. I appreciate their visit and the motive behind it. I respect the institution of Obaship and will continue to partner with our royal fathers in the process of bringing succour to our peoples.
“I want to urge you to cooperate with my government when I assume office as it is only through cooperation, mutual love, respect and understanding that genuine needs of the people can be laid bare and also met.
” I want to assure that the scorecard of my administration at the end of four years will be excellent. I have done it before, and I will do it even better now.”
