The immediate past governor of  Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has said he would soon evaluate the performance of his successor,  Governor Ibikunle Amosun. Daniel also disclosed that the long feud between him and his estranged friend, former governor of Lagos State Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been resolved.

The former governor who was flanked by former minister of steel,  Shaafa Ishola, former  Commissioner for Information,  Sina Kawonmse, governorship candidate in 2011 under Peoples Party of Nigeria,  Gboyega Isiaka  stated  these at his Asokudero quarters, in Sagamu, on Saturday.

He said: “Generally, let me say that we are not here to evaluate the administration of  Governor Ibikunle  Amosun. “On the contrary,  if you remember accurately after election in  April 2011, I declared that the election has been fought,  won and lost  and the people of Ogun State should provide support for  the new administration.

“For me, that is how it should be, maturity in democracy  and you have seen that I have not yet evaluated the administration we are all talking about. “I think at the point when he would have spent three years which is barely in  few months, we all will be able to bring the figure black and white and the evaluating will be properly done.”

Speaking on his relationship with Tinubu,  Daniel said: “I think there was never a time when the relationship went  a-wire  publicly. I think the things that happened were in the realm of politics. “We were competing under the same banner and I found it convenient and auspicious  that we should play national politics  and so, I left to join PDP,  probably the  aftermath of that game is what you saw played out. “But beyond that, we had always been very good  friends, our friendship dates back decades,  so if we both woke  up one day and say enough of this fight,  are you not happy, that is how it happened.”
