UGHELLI—A social political group, Delta Network for Qualitative Governance, DNQG, yesterday, called on All Progressive Congress, APC, to dissolve the purported interim executive committee constituted by the party in Delta State.
DNQG in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Ifeanyi Okocha, berated the National Chairman, South-South of APC, Chief Tom Ikimi over media reports credited to him that the complaint of former Chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in Delta State, Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh over the inauguration of the APC’s executive in the state was irrelevant.
The group said “the manner in which the purported executive emerged is undemocratic, a complete sham and a total departure from the APC’s cardinal objective of rescuing the country from the shackles of misrule and underdevelopment foisted on it by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
“As a man of unwavering belief and support for democratic principles and tenets, who piloted the affairs of the state chapter of ACN to the admiration of all Deltans, all that Okotie-Eboh was seeking was transparency and the use of internal democracy in the process of determining who becomes member(s) of the party’s interim executive committee in the state.
“It is therefore, a great show of shame to see Tom Ikimi, the South-South Vice Chairman conniving with some members of the party, who are from PDP, who are not members of the legacy group, to scheme Okotie-Eboh out and go ahead to swear-in those that have not been approved by the NEC of the party.”
