Rivers students pledge support for Amaechi

PORT HARCOURT— NATIONAL Union of Rivers State Students, NURSS,  has urged Governor Chibuike Amaechi to disregard efforts by some mischievous politicians to distract his administration from delivering the dividends democracy to the people of the state.

Speaking during a solidarity rally to Government House, Port Harcourt, president of the body, Warmete Awoloye, said students of the state would not cordon any act of injustice against the administration of Governor Amaechi.

The students,  who spoke against the backdrop of political developments within Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in  the state, said they would continue to identify with the government of the day for its visionary leadership.

They harped on the achievements of the Amaechi administration in the areas of education, health and other sectors of the state.

“Rivers State students will not allow injustice in the state, we will not allow detractors.  We are appealing to Governor Amaechi not to be distracted, but be focused on his development strides.  We are giving the governor our unflinching support.  I want to vouch that students will remain peaceful in Rivers State,” Awoloye said.

Incoming NURSS President, Lucky Chukwuladi and Leader, Joint Campuses Committee of National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Rivers State Chapter, Lar Amabu, pledged the loyalty of Rivers students to Governor Amaechi’s  administration.

Chukwuladi said, “We came out to say we are in total support of Amaechi’s  government.”
