A group, Pinnacle Organisation, has decried the disappearance of Igbo language, especially among the new generation.
To help restore interest in the language, it is organising a two-day event aimed at revitalising Igbo culture.
Pinnacle’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Charity Okoli, said the event, tagged Igbo Asoka” (Igbo is sweet), will hold on September 7 this year at Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra State capital.
The organisers said it was the first of its kind and will feature talk shops, traditional dances, masquerade displays, beauty pageants, and a gala nite, with participants turning out in Igbo traditional attires.
