After suffering an injury scare against Cape Verde in an international friendly, that saw him sidelined for days, Goalkeeper Austin Ejide is back and fit as a fiddle.

The Hapoel Beer Sheva of Israel player, was amongst the players who spoke to reporters at the pre-match conference held Sunday at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit and when asked about his fitness, the goalie, who impressred so much in the game against the Island nation, said that he was ready.

“If they pick me, I am ready to rumble. I am very fine”, Ejide said as he thanked Nigerians for their concern during his time on the injury list. “My thanks to Nigerians for their concern and prayers”.

Also speaking, goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu, said that all three goalies, comprising Vincent Enyeama, Ejide and Chigozie Agbim were in prime shape for the tournament.

“All the three goalkeepers are in good shape. Anyone picked by the coach will do well”, said Shorunmu.
