Super Eagles boss, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has made good his intention of using a sprinkle of foreign based players for the May 23 international friendly against the Peruvian national team, by naming five foreign based stars for the friendly.

Those named by Keshi are Turkey based striker, Ekigho Ehiosun, Gege Soriola who plays in the South African league, for Free State Stars, former U23 national team skipper, Nwankwo Obiorah of Parma in Italy, Nnamdi Oduamadi of Torino FC and much talked about  Raheem Lawal of Spanish side, Atletico Belaeres.

The players are expected to report to the national team’s training camp which opened on Sunday, May 6 in Abuja even as Keshi has reiterated that the home based team will be unveiled in due course.

All the players named are thought to be on top of their game at the moment and Keshi said he called them up because he needed the players in the relevant departments and will not hesitate to call on others for other friendlies and qualifiers that are due in the very busy month of June.

After initially naming five foreign based players in Obiora Nwankwo, Gege Soriola, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Raheem Lawal and Ekigho Ehiosun, Super Eagles boss, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi moved swiftly to dispel rumours over the list of home-based players for the international friendly against Peru by announcing the names of 26 players for the match.

Team Scribe Dayo Enebi Achor, said the list was made after due consultation between Keshi, the NFF Technical Department and the Technical Committee of the Federation.

The list include three goalkeepers, nine defenders, while the rest is made up of midfielders and strikers, equally shared.

Usual suspects like home-based skipper, Chigozie Agbim, led the list along with exciting winger Ejike Uzoenyi, reliable defenders, Papa Idris, Azubuike Egwueke and Godfrey Oboabona.

Travel arrangements have already been made by the NFF, as the team is scheduled to depart May 19, four clear days before the game aboard Iberia Airline, for Lima, the Peruvian capital.
