Shun Cultism, Rufa’i charges Nigerian Students

Minister of Education, Prof Ruquayattu Ahmed Rufa’i has urged students in the nation’s tertiary institution to shun cultism and other social vices, saying the increasing wave of students cultism, examination malpractices among others have become a source of concern to the Federal Government.

The Minister who  made this call at the 19th Convocation of the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi on Saturday, disclosed that the impunity in which students indulge in crimes portend a grave future for the country.

Congratulating the graduating students, Prof Rufa’i urged them to contribute their quota to the develpoment of the nation as they join the larger society.

According to the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Phillipa Idogho, 6535 students graduated with 50 of them bagging distinction in the Higher National Diploma level, while 68 bagged  distinction at the Ordinary National Diploma Level.

High point of the event was the Fellow Honour bestowed on Governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo State, Justice Constance Momoh, Former Chief Judge of the State; Prof Abraham Imogie, Former Secretary for Education and Youth Development and Dr Mas’udu Kazuare, Executive Secretary, National Board fot Technical Education.
