The Nigeria Olympic team are due back in the country from a training camp in Ghana today, team officials have disclosed.

“The team will fly into Lagos enroute to Morocco for the final qualifiers,” team media officer Arafat Aliu said.

The U-23 Eagles have been in Accra, Ghana, since November 5 after the proposed training camps in Portugal and Turkey were cancelled.

In the meantime, Al Merriekh of Sudan striker Stephen Worgu departed the Accra camp of the U23 team Monday for Sudan. The player will rejoin the team in Morocco after helping featuring for his club in some decisive league games.

Worgu, who scored one of the two goals in the Nigerian team’s 2-1 over Ghanaian Premier League side Tudu Mighty Jets, said, “I would rejoin the team in Morocco next Monday. I had promised my club that I would feature in the last two games of the season and explained same to the chief coach, while in Sudan I would ensure I get my Moroccan Visa.”

Similarly, Victoria Setubal of Portugal defender Terna Suswam was released Monday to fly down to Abuja, to enable him renew his international passport.

Suswam, who saw 45 minutes action in the friendly against Tudu Mighty Jets, will proceed to Lagos on Tuesday to wait for the rest of the team.

Aliu confirmed that Kryvbas FC of Ukraine midfielder Michael Babatunde was Monday issued his Moroccan visa by the Morocco embassy in Kiev.

“I just called to let you know that I have collected my visa to Morocco. I presented the letters sent to all the players by the team secretary and within 40 minutes I was issued a visa,” an elated Babatunde explained.
