BY PETER OKUTU

ABAKALIKI- EDDA Clan Traditional Rulers Council, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Wednesday, called on the state government and other relevant agencies to prosecute the Fulani cattle herdsmen and some members of the Joint Military/ Police patrol over their alleged role in the killing of one Mr. Alum Amadi and detention of Mr. Eluu Oko Nnachi, Egwu Oko Egwu and John Oko Amadi at the state Police Command, Abakaliki, since last weekend.

The traditional rulers made the call after an emergency meeting of the Council in Edda, Afikpo South LGA on Monday, October 10.

They alleged that the Fulani cattle herdsmen destroyed the community’s root crops situated at Okpuma. They said the sporadic shooting of innocent peasant farmers by the joint Military/ Police team in the area had brought untold pain to the people.
