IMSG to build new university

BY CHIDI NKWOPARA
OWERRI—Imo State Government has concluded arrangements to build a new university to take care of the increasing number of students seeking tertiary admission in the state.

Although government did not say where the new university would be sited, it, however, disclosed that it would equally build a new airport terminal, a 5-star hotel, an ecumenical centre, a shopping mall and what it called “world’s tallest tower” in the state.

Governor Rochas Okorocha, who dropped the hint while addressing his aides during a retreat, also promised that approval had been given to the Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso, to establish a construction company to be known as “Imo Construction Company”.

He said: “The Deputy Governor has been given approval to establish Imo Construction Company. The company will be provided with modern construction equipment to be well positioned to compete with notable construction companies in the country.”
