Delta State Government has restated its resolve to support and promote sustai-nable human development activities of the Micro- Projects Participating Nine, MPP9, in the state as part of efforts to reduce poverty in rural and sub-urban communities.

Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Kenneth Okpara, represented by a director in the ministry, Mrs Patience Ogbewe, said MPP9, funded by European Union Funded Development Programme for the nine Niger Delta states, was in partnership with the Federal Government.

Delta State MPP9 Team Leader, Mrs Emosaire said the programme will promote gender equality, trans-parency and accountability, adding that it would be implemented in 60 selected communities.

She said MPP9 hopes to implement 1,200 micro projects in the nine Niger Delta states and 133 projects in Delta State in the next four years.
