Policeman shoots 2 in Auchi

Auchi (Edo): A policeman on Friday in Auchi, shot two persons who were on a queue to buy Kerosene after an argument between them and the Filling Station Manager.

The victims, Kabiru Kasimu and Iliasu Kadiri, who were shot on the leg and chest respectively, were rushed to a private hospital in Auchi in Estako West Local Government area of Edo.

The  incident occurred after an argument between the station manager and one of the victims.

Eyewitnesses told NAN that the policeman usually provided security whenever the station sold kerosene.

They said that Kadiri had complained to the manager that the quantity of the commodity sold to him was not up to what he paid for, but was not given attention.

According to them, it is the refusal of the manager to listen to his complaint that prompted the argument between the two.

The eyewitnesses said that while the argument was on, the policeman shot Kadiri on the leg and Kasimu on the chest.

When contacted on the incident, the Auchi Divisional Police Officer, Mr Bolalanle Muritala, who confirmed the story, appealed for calm.  (NAN)
