Oil and gas experts have warned that the only way the country can tackle the crisis of interruptions and scarcity of petroleum products in the country is to address infrastructural challenges in the sector and ensure a credible process that would facilitate effective distribution of the products in the market.
They also advised that deregulation of the downstream aspect of the petroleum industry remains the best panacea to the crisis.
Determined to address the infrastructural challenges responsible for the crisis in terms of distribution and storage of petroleum products, top executives of the downstream sector are expected to brainstorm on the way forward at this year’s annual petroleum expo on Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL).
At a press briefing in Lagos ahead of OTL Africa conference scheduled for November in Abuja, Mrs. Joyce Akabogu, executive director, Admiralty Resource Services, and organizers of the event, stated this year’s event is unique being the fifth anniversary, and assured that the premier down stream petroleum expo would be an excellent mix of knowledge, business and brand celebration.
