Dupe Ige Kachi has had three sizzling hot seasons as voice coach in top music talent hunt show MTN project fame that really had her smiling to the banks but when it matters most, fate she told Showtime has been unfair to her.
This extremely talented singer told us that poor offers from music marketers have greatly discouraged sales of her album Evolution which she launched last year.
According to her, “these music business men have been nothing but clogs in my wheels of progress. I know I may sound like a broken record, but it’s heartbreaking when you give your work to some of these marketers and you don’t get the value that you put into it.
That is why I’m thinking of working out my own marketing strategy.”
Determined to register her songs in the minds of Nigerians, she recently performed along side Provabs an upcoming rap artiste in Victoria Island as part of a strong collaborative effort to have her music make more meaningful impact.
Ige recalled how she started off musically saying “I started off with classical music but moved on because I wanted to explore other genres that I’m not used to. Right now I’m cooking up new songs.”
Ige has been singing since seven. She has written and performed several jingles and commercial songs. She’s a proud holder of MUSON certificates in voice, piano and theory of music,
Her album, Evolution according to the singer is a potpourri of all the songs that she knew. “It’s a 16-tracker album and it expresses who I am.”
