The Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON) in collaboration with Brian Integrated Systems Limited donated a mini-laptop and an external DVD ROM as a star prize to the winner of the National Association of Computer Science Students(NACOSS) NITTEX contest held last year week at the University of Lagos.
The President of Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria, (ISPON) Chris Uwaje who was represented by the Admin Secretary/SDC Coordinator, Chika Nwabuisi, delivered a keynote speech and also presented the star prize to the winner of the contest at the end of the event.
The star prize winner, Joseph Olakunmi, a 300 Level Computer Science Student of the University of Lagos, demonstrated a software solution on Farm Management System.
Meanwhile, ISPON is concluding arrangement to organize a National Software Conference in Calabar.
The event, which will also include a National Software Competition, will parade students from different tertiary institutions across the country, under the platform of Software Development Club (SDC), an ISPON offshoot.
The Software Development Club was established by ISPON to develop and empower Nigerian youths with global software knowledge as strategic instrument for facilitating and building skilled capacities for self-reliance, wealth creation and national security – applying global Information and Communication Technology best practices.
