Globacom Nigeria has said that its new brand called Glo Zone was created to empower young Nigerian entrepreneurs, create jobs for the teeming youths and bring quality Glo products and services to the door steps of its customers.
The Glo Zone, a unique customer interfacing project is equipped with the state-of -the art facilities and qualified personnel to attend to customers. It would be run by private and budding entrepreneurs to provide all the conveniences similar to Gloworld nationwide.
According to the company, Glo Zone was not created to replace Gloworld but to compliment it in bringing Glo services nearer to the people.
Speaking at the media launch of Glo Zone at the Globacom Corporate Headquarters, Lagos, the Group Chief Operating Officer of telecoms giant, Mr Mohamed Jameel described Nigeria as vast country with Glo subscribers in every locality of the country.
According to him, this has made it pertinent for the company to extend quality customer care services to every of its subscriber irrespective of the location.
He explained that this is what Globacom was trying to achieve through Gloworld but the subscribers zone has continued to grow and expand thereby posing more challenges to serve the customers better.
“ The subscriber base of Globacom has grown exponentially over the last few years such that the company had to look at other ways to solve the problem of providing rapid points of contacts with its subscribers.
“By locating the Glo Zone in neighbourhoods, the company is bringing its products and services closer to the people and eliminating the problem of having to move long distances to purchase Globacom products and enjoy its service.
This also helps to ensure that subscribers do not have to waste precious time travelling long distances to experience Globacom products and services”, he assured.
Speaking further, Jameel said the new development presented a win-win situation for all the stakeholders of Globacom across the country.
According to him, “it is an opportunity to bond with the subscribers, a good opportunity to prop up budding entrepreneurs and assist them rule their world thereby contributing in practical terms to solving unemployment problems in the country.
And for Globacom, the concept presents a quicker opportunity for delivering Glo products and services in a less capital intensive manner.”
