Olurin emerges PDP leader in Ogun

ABEOKUTA – IN apparent  bid to re-position the party for the challenges ahead, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP in Ogun State, in the last governorship election; Chief Adetunji Olurin  has emerged the leader of the party in the state.

His emergence also coincided with the election of Chief Sule Onabiyi as the state chairman of the
party’s elders’ council.

During the meeting, which  was held at the Government Reservation Area [GRA] residence of Chief Onabiyi at the weekend, both Olurin  and Onabiyi in their acceptance speeches called for  unity and discipline in the party.

Chief Olurin in his speech enjoined all the party members to bury their differences and join hands with him and other leaders for the party to become stronger in the state.

‘’The position reposed to me now is a call to service and I promise with god wisdom, advice, assistance from you all we shall succeed in bringing the party lost glory in the state back’’.

In his own speech, Chief Onabiyi said ‘’let us put the elections behind us, we thank God that PDP won the Presidential Election. What we need now is unity, discipline selfless service, commitment and not authoritarian and selfishness from elders”.

Notable among the party leaders who attended the meeting include the former Chairman of the Party Elder Joju Fadairo, Chief (Mrs. Titilayo Ajankau, Senator Kola Bajomo, and Chief (Mrs.) Lola Abiola-Edewor.
