As the Confederation of African Football releases the fixtures for inter-club competitions this weekend, Sunshine of Akure boss, Mike Idoko stated that his wards will go all the way to the final of the Confederations Cup and win.
Sunshine making their debut in continental football this season have qualified for the last eight of the CAF Cup after beating Armed Forces Sporting Union of Burkina Faso 2-1 on aggregate. This was after they eliminated Tiko of Cameroon with wins at both legs. Idoko stated that Sunshine is focused and are determined to win the trophy for Nigeria despite the odds.
“I am happy that our hard work is paying off and has seen us through to the next stage of the competition.
“My assurance to Nigerians is that we will deliver the trophy no matter the intimidations. We would start intense preparation for our next opponent, we are not resting on our oars, we will continue to push till we win the trophy which is our target,” he said.
CAF will conduct the inter_clubs competitions draw on May 15, 2010 at its headquarter in Egypt.
The Inter_Clubs competitions are the Orange CAF Champions League and the Orange CAF Confederation Cup.
