A BUILDING housing a studio of the African Independent Television, AIT, situated at AIT Road Alagbodo, Lagos was yesterday gutted by fire around 4pm.
According to sources, the fire started from the Information Technology, IT, room and soon spread to other parts of the duplex. However, the fire was stopped before it got to the studio downstairs.
Speaking under condition of anonymity, a staff told Vanguard that since the fire started from the Information Technology room, it was most likely to be an electrical problem.
“We thank God no life was lost and that our studio equipments were saved through the efforts of the Lagos State Fire service who responded to the emergency.”
Confirming the story, the Lagos State Police Spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police Samuel Jinadu, said the fire which began around 4:pm was contained due to the timely response of the state’s fire service.
Stating that no life was lost in the inferno, Jinadu said that the cause of the fire was not yet ascertained
