WARRI—ACCOUNTA-NTS in the country have been charged to keep abreast of current trends in the profession and strive to impact positively on their immediate work places and environment to remain relevant in the society.
President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, Chief Elizabeth Adegite, gave the charge in Warri during this year Accountants’ Forum/Dinner organised by members of the Warri and District Society of ICAN, Delta State.
Adegite, who is the 45th President of ICAN, said her visit was meant to interact with practising accountants in the district to know their constraints and design ways to meet the challenges where they exist.
She further charged accountants to be abreast of the Institute’s programmes and policies so as to flow with the current trend in the profession.
Adegite warned them to shun actions capable of tarnishing the good image of the profession in the eyes of the public, as they were the keys to the success of their various organizations.
