PORT HARCOURT: The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has alleged that Senator Dino Melaye, does not have all it takes to be the governor of Kogi State, adding that Melaye was just a joker.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, has described the face-off between his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as “nothing that is abnormal.”

Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike has on Thursday showered encomiums on his Kaduna state counterpart, Governor Nasir Elrufai for shunning personal interests for the unity of Nigeria, in the just concluded 2023 general election.

“Somebody stayed in office for one year and he is building an institution. I won’t support such. That is why we believe PDP will be strengthened with the new leadership”

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has asked Sen Iyorcha Ayu to accept that his reign as National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ended.

“So, if you do anything, I’ll pepper you,” he added. “You see how I peppered them now? Are they not the ones suffering it now? Ayu said nobody can suspend him, but today he has packed up from the office,” Wike said.

“God, directly and indirectly, made Governor Wike very much available, and so there is no way APC can conclude about the success of the election without mentioning Governor Wike,” the Ebonyi governor said.

FORMER Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has denounced claims by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, that he (Anyim) as opposed to the emergence of a former Anambra State governor, Mr Peter Obi, as running mate to the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The former Senate President, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Thursday explained that Governor Nyesom Wike of River State was mistaken, when he mentioned his name during a media chat yesterday as one of the persons he fought to enable Mr Peter Obi to emerge as the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said he is inviting the President-elect, Bola Tinubu to the state to inaugurate projects constructed by his administration.

“I take exception to Peter Obi’s comments that I came out against him. People are not being sincere, people are not appreciative,” he stated.

GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike has cautioned the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to guard against desperate politicians inducing divisions in the association with divisive campaigns at gaining an electoral advantage over the 2023 general election.

“In the South-East, it is a similar situation, people know me, people know what I stand for, people know I have kept my promises. People know I’ve kept to what I have said.”

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has explained that the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Labour Party, because of moves by some politicians in the PDP to ensure power remained in the north.
