The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to the continued disturbing, senseless killings and wanton destruction of properties in Adamawa, Benue and Taraba States.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the imminent visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Taraba, Benue and other crisis-prone areas where innocent lives were lost recently as an afterthought and a move to further hoodwink the people ahead of the 2019 general elections.

At least 10 people were killed in several days of violence between herdsmen and farmers in eastern Nigeria, police said on Monday, but the cattle drivers gave a higher toll.

About 20 persons have been reported killed and 300 cows stolen, following a fresh outbreak of ethnic violence on the Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, yesterday.

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State and lawmakers from the state in the House of Representatives, yesterday, raised alarm over planned attack on the state in the next 10 days.

The Defence headquarters on Thursday reacted to the alarm raised by Governor Darius Ishiaku of Taraba State that intelligence reports has shown that there are plans by herdsmen to attack the state in eleven (11) days.

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state has disclosed that the state government had received a corded communication from unknown persons that the state will be under heavy attack in the next ten days.

A helicopter suspected to be loaded with arms and ammunition was reported to have landed in a village called Jibu, in Wukari local government area of Taraba State on Saturday.
