Patrick Mboma, arguably one of Cameroon’s best strikers of all time has warned Nigerian soccer fans to brace up for a heartbreak when the Indomitable Lions play the Super Eagles at the Nest of Champions, Uyo, in the 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier on September 1.

Former Super Eagles playmaker and captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has blamed the disbandment of the Super Eagles after the floppy performance of the team at the Mali 2002 African Cup of Nations as the beginning of the misfortune for the national team.

Apparently aware of the heart beats of many Nigerians since the ugly news of the diagnosis of first choice keeper, Carl Ikeme with acute leukaemia and the consequent need for a good goalkeeper, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, may have resolved to hire a foreign goalkeepers trainer to rescue the Eagles.

Former Deputy National President of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Chief Rommy Ezeon-wuka has advised the Nigeria Football Federation to move the forthcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon away from the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Even though Nigeria did not qualify for the just concluded FIFA Confederations Cup which the World Cup holders, Germany won as Coach Joachim Low took the team to a glorifying 152 outings and 102 wins, the competition still harbours for the Super Eagles, fond memories.
