Osun State election-With four local government areas of Osun state to have the results of last Saturday election collated and officially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, supporters of the All Progressives Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP clashed at the main entrance gate of the commission forcing the security officers deployed for the election to throw several cans of canister to disperse them.

Stemming from the controversy generated by its choice of Port Harcourt, as  venue for its national convention, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said it opted for the Rivers State capital, ahead of other places, because it met all the requirements to host over 4,000 delegates.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola failed to deliver his home base of Ijeshaland to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, as the opposition Peoples Democratic Party swept almost all the local councils.

-The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, South East zone, Saturday, screened Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State alongside other governorship
aspirants in four states in the zone especially Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state.

The South-South PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee on Saturday screened and cleared Governors Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) and Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom) to contest their respective state governorship primaries .
