A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) group known as Baissa PDP Progressive has said that the implosion of candidates for the 2019 general election could cost the party dearly.

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency, Imo State, Ikenna Elezianya, yesterday promised to sponsor a bill that would end any form of discrimination in the education system.

THE polity witnessed an interesting debate among five vice presidential candidates on Friday. The debate was a tango between the two leading parties’ flag bearers, Professor Yemi Osinbajo of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Mr. Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. It was not devoid of the usual trading of blames with the APC vice presidential candidate accusing PDP of looting the country for 16 years and his PDP counterpart accusing the APC of ineptitude and bad policies that worsened the plight of the citizenry.   

I almost made it home this year. I have yet to set sight of Nigeria physically in 31 years. I hardly believe it myself, where the years go and why I had not gone home previously. Honestly, it was not my intention to stay away this long. It just happened: had children, built a career, my siblings came over and my parents visited almost yearly.  To me, Nigeria was no longer a physical place but more to me a spiritual home, one that I carry with me where ever I am.
