Ahead of the March 9 governorship elections, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has described illegal the alleged occupation and provocative besiegement of PDP states in the South South, namely Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Cross River states by the military.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has rejected the outcome of last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections in the State as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Miffed with the declaration of president Muhammadu Buhari as the president elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Thursday addressed the world on what it described as the “militarization of the South south zone elections by the ruling APC as led by Muhammadu Buhari”.

For months, its campaign train moved from one geo-political zone to another, from one city to another, marketing a policy document aimed at championing a new direction for Nigeria. For the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the 2019 general elections offered an ample opportunity to stage a comeback into governance, particularly at the centre, which it lost in 2015.

Gov. Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State, has called on the defeated Presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his party, to accept the outcome of the 2019 presidential election in good faith.
