THE supremacy battle between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new twist on Thursday as the APC took over the PDP secretariat located at No 59 Airport Road, claiming it had been the owner of the building was forcefully taken over by former Governor Godwin Obaseki when he defected from the APC to the PDP.

AHEAD of Saturday’s local government elections in Ondo State, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has withdrawn from participating.

The political crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers state has taken a dramatic twist following the judgement of Justice Stephen Jumbo of the Rivers State High Court, restraining Mr Chukwuemeka, an ally of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and his executive from parading as Chairman of the State chapter of the party.

“These acts of violence and harassment are deliberate distractions meant to make us take our eyes off the ball,” he said.

However, the party faithful in the state loyal to the governor of the state, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, on Wednesday, held a quick congress and appointed a caretaker committee team for the party.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State says it has withdrawn from the Local Government (LG) elections slated for Saturday in the state.

There was anxiety among passersby and motorists along adjoining roads near the location of the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, as suspected armed thugs shot sporadically for unclear reasons, which made people around to run for safety.
