THE Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji has described the passage of Nigeria’s former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN), as a monumental loss to the nation.

ibadan—IN commemoration of the 91st  birthday of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, all the 21 promoted kings, yesterday, visited the monarch in his Popoyemoja Palace, Ibadan.

THE the head of families, otherwise known as Mogajis in Ibadanland on Sunday submitted that the people of Ibadanland are now happy with Governor Seyi Makinde following the withdrawal of suit seeking out-of-court-settlement of Olubadan-in-Council legal tussle from the Court of Appeal by the Oyo State Government.  

IBADAN—THE new kings, yesterday, vowed that they would only return to the Olubadan’s palace if they are accorded due recognition as obas and not as high chiefs.

THE Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji could not hide his joy, yesterday, as he danced to warmly receive his estranged members of Olubadan in Council who visited him in his Popoyemoja palace as  part of the process that would lead to an amicable resolution of the friction between them.

IBADAN—THERE appears to be no end in sight to the festering crisis between Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and members of Olubadan-in-Council, as the high chiefs accused the monarch of enjoying some of the benefits of the review of Olubadan chieftaincy declaration, which made them kings.

THE frosty relationship between the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and members of Olubadan-in-council which appeared to have subsided, resurfaced, yesterday, as the latter accused the monarch of allegedly undermining the Olubadan institution with illegal practices and disregard to the Council.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has endorsed the forthcoming District 01 Little League Baseball and Softball 2019 Tournament Clinics slated for April 12 to April 19 in Ibadan.

HOPE of peaceful resolution to the on-going royal tussle between the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, and his members of Olubadan in-council over the review of 1959 Olubadan Chieftaincy Declaration dimmed further, yesterday, as the paramount ruler said it was wrong for any of the new kings to think that he was sheepishly following the dictates of a former Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja.
