As part of efforts to safely navigate the country through its turbulent times, the technical committee set up by the Northern Elders forum and Southern Elders to discuss modalities to address some challenges confronting the country have met in Abuja with a resolution to have a broadbased Nigerian Elders Forum NEF that can intervene in crisis situations.

 Some Northern political elite have started preparation for political alliance with other geo-political zones based on unity, equity and justice.

Increasing polarisation within state chapters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in key northern states is posing a challenge to the electoral invincibility of President Muhammadu Buhari in states he had in the past taken for granted.

The Northern Senators’ Forum and the 19 Northern governors would on Monday converge on Katsina for a three-day retreat to deliberate on the agitations for restructuring of the country.
