Warri  Study Group has called for harmony  among the three  ethnic groups of Itsekiri, Isoko and Ijaw in Delta South senatorial district ahead of the senatorial election in 2019.

Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, has lamented what it described as deliberate attempt to annex Itsekiri land and resources in Edo State unjustly, saying that the situation was not helping the growth of the Itsekiri in the state.

The National Association of Itsekiri Students (NAIS) has encouraged the former governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan to go to the senate and do more towards empowering the youths of Delta south Senatorial District.

An Ijaw pressure group, Delta Ijaw Equity Group, DIEG, has thrown its  weight behind the senatorial ambition of a former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Kent  Omatsone, saying that of the three Itsekiri aspirant to the seat, Omatsone was most acceptable to the Ijaws of Delta South senatorial district.

Avery Nigeria Limited, distributors of Avery-Weigh Tronix Equipment (Weighing Metrology) and Videojet (Ink-Jet and Laser coding) equipment, has donated to Eriegwa Itsekiri Ladies Society in Lagos to build a police station and skill acquisition centre at Ode Itsekiri, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State. This was done as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to the society.
