The lawmaker representing Ogun East senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has blamed the defeat of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State on what he termed the arrogance of the state governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

The Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC, National Commissioner in charge of Election Operations and Logistics, Mrs. Amina Bala Zakari, has demanded an apology from Governor Ayodele Fayose over   allegation that she compromise in the Ekiti election.

In 2014, Ekiti governorship election held. The results astounded everyone. The opposition party in the state walloped the incumbent governor. Fayose won in all local government areas. Fayose  thumped his chest and bragged about knowing the feelings of the people. He ridiculed the defeated incumbent governor, Fayemi, for being insensitive and aloof. He dismissed his ideas as too intellectual, too naive. Fayemi and his party had been impeded, harassed and terrorized by federal security agents controlled by Fayose, deployed by  President Jonathan. But the election  results left Fayemi with no room for grumbling. He conceded the election, and congratulated Fayose.

Gov. Ayo Fayose has again raised the alarm that police intimidation of himself, his family, and Ekiti workers continue unabated days after the Saturday, July 14th governorship election.

Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday made his first public appearance in Ado Ekiti, state capital after the July 14 poll which produced All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Kayode Fayemi, as governor-elect.
