Ecobank launches virtual card for online payments

 Ecobank has launched the virtual card, a digital payment solution for safe online payments, integrated into its digital banking channel, Ecobank Mobile. The Ecobank Virtual Card was rolled out in the recently released version of the  Ecobank Mobile app which is available for downloading at the Google Play and App Stores.

National Diaspora Day: Ecobank offers zero fees on Rapidtransfer

In commemoration of the National Diaspora Day, Ecobank Nigeria has stated that it is offering zero fees for money transfers on the Rapidtransfer App from now till the 31st of October 2020. The Federal Government has set aside July 25 of every year as the National Diaspora Day in recognition of the contributions of Nigerians living outside the country towards the development of their homeland.

Ecobank extends zero charge for digital money transfers

Ecobank has extended its zero charge fee for digital money transfers below N5,000 till the end of September this year. In addition to the free USSD session fee currently enjoyed by Ecobank customers, users of Ecobank Mobile, Ecobank Online, USSD – Ecobank *326# can continue to enjoy zero fee charge for digital money transfers below N5,000. New customers can also benefit from this by opening an Xpress account from the comfort of their homes by simply dialling *326#. 

Children’s Day: Ecobank counsels parents on remote learning  

The Managing Director, Ecobank Nigeria, Patrick Akinwuntan called on parents to ensure their children study online and stay on top of their education despite the current closure of schools occasioned by the Covid -19 pandemic. Akinwuntan, in a message to mark this year’s Children’s Day, observed that the coronavirus may have disrupted the usual academic activities globally, children should, however, keep up with learning supported with e-learning materials pending when schools re-open.

Ecobank Nigeria has reiterated that its agency banking scheme, also known as Xpress Points, is building entrepreneurs and pushing financial inclusion to the large unbanked and under-banked population in Nigeria. The Ecobank Xpress Point enables eligible Agents to carry out financial transactions on behalf of Ecobank and earn commission on every transaction processed. The consumer experience is very good as customers can do the simple deposit, payment and transfers in their own neighbourhood rather than travel for hours to a bank branch. Ecobank Xpress Points is also a channel that can be used for the deployment of national social intervention programmes of the Government.

Ecobank Nigeria encourages customers to obey COVID-19 rules opens more branches nationwide

Ecobank Nigeria has encouraged its customers to obey the COVID-19 rules,  emphasizing the importance of social distancing to check the spread of the Coronavirus, especially when visiting the branches. The bank which gave this advice in a mail to customers also thanked them for their dedication and continued patronage while confirming that more branches are being opened to decongest those already opened for business since the easing off of lockdowns across the country.
