THE Nigeria Customs Service has read a riot act to investors in Ogun State, especially in the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone over import duty, declaring that no one would be allowed to either import or export anything into or out of the country without the payment of export or import duties.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has condemned the pronouncement by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (retd), that the NCS would soon begin to impound vehicles being used in the country without Customs duties papers.

THE National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA) has lent its voice to the Senate on the controversial import duty policy on used vehicles imposed by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, requiring it to impound vehicles on the road over importation documents regardless of how long the vehicles have been in use in Nigeria.
