Following the closure of all Nigeria borders by the federal government in a bid to stop smuggling of goods into the country, the Group Managing Director of KAM Holding Limited, Dr. Kamoru Yusuf, has advised Nigerians to support local manufacturers and prove the world that the country is truly the giant of Africa.

Back in the days when we were blissfully unaware of the enormity of our actions, we used to buy drinks for our regular weekend parties from Badagry and Cotonou. Occasionally, we bought fruits or whatever tickled our fancy.

The Governments of Nigeria, Benin Republic and Niger have set-up a committee to combat the illegal passage of the goods at their common borders which is negatively affecting the economy and security situation in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Customs Service last week issued a directive suspending fuel supply to stations within 20km of Nigeria’s border as a measure to check smuggling of the products.
