Sen. Sam Egwu, former Education Minister, has urged the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to make compromises, so as to resolve the current nationwide strike by ASUU.

The meeting held between the Federal Government  and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, to resolve the ongoing strike embarked upon the union ended in a deadlock.

A meeting held Thursday, in Abuja, between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to resolve the ongoing industrial action by the latter, just ended without agreement.

MINISTER of Education, Adamu Adamu, said on Thursday that the on-going strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the main umbrella body of University lecturers in the country would be called off next week.
