FOR the ninth time in a series, the federal government and the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, failed to resolve their differences during a meeting they held yesterday, in Abuja.

AWKA—THE National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS,  yesterday, threatened to boycott and disrupt the 2019 general elections should the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and its Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, counterpart and the Federal Government fail to reach an understanding and call off the ongoing strike.

 The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened that it would sanction some university Vice-Chancellors who may have been “uncooperative” in the ongoing strike by the lecturers.

The Academic State Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday, received the certificate of operation for Nigerian University Pension Management Company, NUPEMCO, from National Pension Commission, the regulatory agency for the country’s pension companies.

AFTER a marathon meeting between  members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and Federal Government over the on-going strike, the union has said the Federal Government failed to make fresh offer on funding for the revitalisation of public universities in the country.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has pleaded with the Federal Government to address  the grievances of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), to ensure commencement of academic activities in public universities.
