Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger has called for calm among residents of the state during and after the ongoing All Progressive Congress primaries in the state.

 Mr Kayode Opeifa, a Lagos West Senatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday said that the interest of the party was uppermost to him.

The  All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the senatorial primaries for Niger State will now hold on Friday, 5th October, 2018.

A former Minister of Culture,  Chief Edem Duke, and Mr. John Odey, who were governorship aspirants on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State have rejected the outcome of the party’s primary election in the state, describing the exercise as a charade.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee(NWC) on Tuesday in Abuja suspended the Imo governorship primaries indefinitely.

Fellow contenders for the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential ticket have faulted the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari as the presidential candidate of the party saying that the process was fraught with fraud.

 The APC National Working Committee (NWC) panel on Tuesday cancelled the exercise that took place earlier in the day in the Lagos governorship primary election, saying the preparatory process for the election had just been concluded.
